Hutton describes this scene as: 'Dining out. Rather different from the same ceremoy in England. This was at a place called Manga Muka, a native village we came upon after emerging from the long[?] wood.'
The expression 'long wood' is not certain. There is a place called Broadwood not far from Mangamuka
