Description

Digital cartoon by Sharon Murdoch depicting Prime Minister John Key as the Muppets character Gonzo, and Economic Development Minister Steven Joyce (who did go to Waitangi) as Fozzie Bear. Key/Gonzo says, "I'm not going to Waitangi! Waitangi looks completely Mickey Mouse!! And all the Mickey Mouseness is on their side!!!" Joyce/Fozzie Bear says, "Yeah, the Mickey Mouseness is on their side". Accompanying note from the cartoonist states: 'Key takes exception to not being allowed to talk politics and Waitangi Day celebration and calls it Mickey Mouse. Published in SST'.
