Shows scenes from the Dutch community annual Sinterklaas (Santa Claus) celebration, in Wellington, 1971, held on December 5th, the feast day of Saint Nikolas. The figure of Saint Nikolas, wearing a bishop's mitre and robe, parades through the streets on a horse drawn carriage, accompanied by children, many wearing Dutch national costume. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
