Description

Digital cartoon by Sharon Murdoch depicting a teenager with a lock box labelled Mt Eden over his head. Text reads, 'In New Zealand, being locked in a cell for 23 hours a day is imposed on only the most dangerous and violent prisoners. And children'. Accompanying note from the cartoonist reads, 'Young people held in Serco run Mt Eden Prison being held in cells for 22-23 hours a day. Supposedly to keep them safe from general prison muster. This is due to shortage of specialist youth facilities. Published SST'.
