Description

Electronic scans of black and white photographs showing scenes associated with Elam School of Fine Arts, Auckland. Taken between 1970 and 1973 by Max Oettli [and probably by Peter Robinson].

Includes a group portrait of the 1971 class, students looking at Oettli's Leica cameras in photography class (with lecturer John B Turner reading a magazine in the back), and students (Allan MacDonald, Simone, Ruth G) taking photographs on a beach during an Elam summer course.

Includes two photographs taken of photographs pinned on a board [possibly taken by by John Fields]. These show images of a plaster lifecast on the head of Rodney Frumpston which have been annotated by 'JJ Fields' (instructions on how to develop the images; probably used in an Elam photography class).
