Description

Scenes from a tangihanga at a Te Kaha marae, and of beaches towards East Cape, taken in 1963 by Ans Westra. Unless otherwise stated all persons are unidentified.

Images show people at the end of a meal held on the Te Kaha marae. Frame 2 shows priests taking their leave ('These are Dutch missionary priests, working in this area'). The remaining seven images show some of the beaches towards East Cape. Several tents are visible in camping areas. Two frames show horses in fields nearby.
