Norman Watt was born 22 Apr 1919 at Devonport, Auckland. Describes family background, childhood, education and early employment as a grocery delivery boy. Details career with Bond and Bond Ltd, from Junior Clerk in 1935, to Accounts, Office Manager, Credit Manager and Computer Output Controller, retiring from the company in 1979. Discusses the grocery trade and changes to the wholesale and retail business, including Four Square and Independent Grocers' Alliance (IGA).
