Description

Photographs mainly relating to Harry Unwin's social life in New Zealand (circa 1940s-1970s) as well as miscellaneous images (circa 1900s-1950s). Taken mainly by unidentified photographer(s).

Contains images of Unwin drinking at smoking with friends and at parties. Two images show Unwin in a [Hawaiian?] costume (one of which is taken by Leica Photos, Hastings). In another image he is recording children on a portable audio device at a party [association with the Kiwi Concert Party?]. One image of Unwin and an unidentified man taken by Valerie Studios (Wellington).

Also contains miscellaneous images, circa 1920s-1950s. These include unidentified groups and couples, a bodybuilder, a table setting at a party, a cricket team, unidentified images of boats [possibly in Australia?], coastal dwellings, a hunting party (with dead hares, dogs, and guns), a postcard of Kingsford Smith in his plane (Upper Hutt), and three men in a row boat (attributed to W Miller).

A few images include annotations on the rear of the print.
