- Description
Under the heading 'Somewhere beyond the black stump...', the cartoon shows an Aboriginal family inspecting a pair of swimming pants hanging from a dead tree. The man says "What the...?" and the woman replies "Them's Budgie smugglers!" Behind them, Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott stands naked in a swimming cap and trainers, and asks "Hey! Anyone seen my support?" Refers to an attempt to remove Abbott as Prime Minister when Liberal MPs rejected others' calls to oust him by 61 votes to 39. Wider context is widespread media coverage of Abbott photographed in his Speedos.
