Accompanying note from cartoonist states, 'The 72 year old polygamist who rules South Africa, Jacob Zuma, has been criticised for siphoning $23 million of taxpayers' money into work on his very own private home at Nkandla. As he squirms over it right now, he has warned South African media against using the term "Nkandlagate". But being typical journalists, they like this term, Nkandlagate. Grrrrrr... Nkandlagate as a word is bloody annoying to him. But he's got a point when you think about it. When that kind of public money is involved, a government really wants the media to say nothing and for the general public to just sort of pretend nothing is happening. Isn't it nice living in Godzone... Cartoon depicts South African president Jacob Zuma.'
Shows South African president Jacob Zuma saying "South African media attack me for spending $22mil of taxpayers money on my own private home. Gimme a break, I say... in New Zealand, they're doing the taxpayer for $130mil to bail out a 'free' convention centre being built by a casino!!" An unknown person replies "Unfair comment, Zuma. We had to say it was 'free' to win an election. But you're just looking after your own slimy interests."
