Accompanying note from cartoonist states, 'Secrecy and propaganda are part of any war, obviously. But sometimes the Great Unwashed need some straight talk in their daily rations. Cartoon depicts PM John Key, Labour Party spokesperson on Defence Phil Goff, and a 'generic' image of one of the many people who have been decapitated recently by Islamic State fighters.'
Refers to questions over the deployment of New Zealand troops in Iraq. In an interview with the BBC, Key stated that New Zealand's entry into the international anti-Islamic State coalition is "the price of the club", possibly referring to the Five Eyes network.
