Commentary from the cartoonist says "One minute, MPs were all noisily feeding at the trough [while snorting that they weren't really in favour of such a large payrise]. Nek minute, John Key had emptied the trough out and called everyone's bluff. That's gotta be a first for New Zealand. Cartoon depicts PM John Key as St Francis of Assisi." Refers to government spending cuts with MPs passing a law to lower their controversial pay rises.
