Description

Shows two farmers talking, one sitting in his truck, the other leaning against it. The truck has a small statue of Jim Anderton on the dashboard, in a quasi-religious arms-outstretched pose. Refers to Anderton's offer to stricken farmers in the Marlborough area after fires swept through more than 6,000 hectares of farmland, killing livestock and destroying fences and pasture. The Government offered $555,000 toward re-seeding and soil conservation, while farmers were able to claim up to 66% of the actual costs of the work

The Library also holds a copy of this original at H-648-055. It was published in the Evening Post on 17 April 2001
