Deputy Prime Minister 1999-2002. From Aug 2002 Minister for Economic Development, for Industry and Regional Development, Minister Responsible for the Public Trust, Associate Minister of Health. Instigator of the Kiwibank. Former businessman, teacher, and city councillor. Son of William Anderton. Co-chairman of the Great Christchurch Buildings Trust.
