Description

Panoramic view showing an angled view of the Tarawera Hot Springs Hotel, a two-storeyed wooden building. There is a fire escape on the corrugated iron side wall on the right leading down from upstairs windows. Verandahs along the front, seen on the left angle; gas lamp in a corner of the upstairs verandah. Driveway from the right, and there are two young women sitting on a lawn with a car [number plate: WN-1949] parked between them and the hotel. Six people are standing out the front, two of them women (one of whom is holding a small dog or cat in her arms). Man on a horse has two dogs beside him in the centre of the image. Steep scrub-covered hillside on the far right. Direction sign to the baths is seen between macrocarpa trees on the far left. Taken by Robert Percy Moore.
