Description

Accompanying note from cartoonist states 'The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies' where Smaug the dragon does low-level 'bombing raids' over Lake-town dispensing bursts of high-pressure flame must surely rank as the best set piece of cinematography in the past decade. If one could for a moment picture Lake-tow as our political elite, then the dragon offers an image of what political journalism should be about (and sometimes is). [in a wholesome sense]. Cartoon depicts Smaug the dragon on-screen, and Martin Doyle (cartoonist) in the audience at the Embassy Theatre, Wellington. The audience wore 3D glasses.'
