Accompanying note from cartoonist states 'The horrific acid attacks on women in Isfahan [Iran] are the criminal expression of deep-seated misogyny. Misogyny itself is the expression of a deep-seated mis-perception of the human genders. Cartoon depicts a burqa-clad woman in the act of giving birth, and a gynaecologist holding the woman's newborn baby which has emerged from the womb already clad in a burqa.'
