Members of a military band are seated on the left of steps decorated with palm fronds leading up to the grandstand. Three large marquees are seen across the centre right of the image. There is a row of press photographers standing up on the edge of the main grandstand. Crowds of spectators line the field, with police at intervals. Taken by Robert Percy Moore.
