Under the caption '"Plant trees" says Key' the Prime Minister, John Key waters a gigantic thistle of the genus 'Winstonia Peterso' which bears the head of the leader of New Zealand First, Winstone Peters. Key says "Oh well...even the thorniest shrubs can bear fruit!"
The rise in the opinion polls of New Zealand First during the September 2014 election campaign indicated that John Key and the National Party may have to deal with Winston Peters, despite their mutual antipathy. The reference to Bennettz may be a local Christchurch reference to the support of the Ngai Tahu chief executive Arihia Bennett and the local iwi to plant trees within the ruins of Christchurch Cathedral. The quote given in the caption cannot be sourced.
