'The Politician' cartoon strip. The Politician, being interviewed by the Ratpack tells them that there will be tax cuts, "but I can't say too much publicly". If he does so "The Minister of Finance might hear about it."
By September 2014 the Prime Minister floated the idea of tax cuts as an election promise. This had been against the advice of the Minister of Finance, Bill English.
