Commentary from the artist states "There is a 'disconnect' between the West's condemnation of the referendum in Crimea and the apparently genuine celebration of the result by the people who live in Crimea." Refers to the 97% of Crimeans who voted 'yes' to the reunion of the republic with Russia as a constituent unit of the Russian Federation rather than remain part of Ukraine.
