Description

Two cash registers dance on the beach at Picton, while overhead the dark cloud of '2 years uncertainty' is hauled away by a cable and anchor. The sun, with its nautical cap on shines brilliantly, and out at sea the ship named 'Clifford Bay' sinks.

Picton business people celebrated the decision by the government not to move the interisland ferry service to Clifford Bay with a party on the waterfront on 9 December 2013.
