- Description
Under the caption '50 years on...' the former president John Fitzgerald Kennedy is shown on a computer screen giving his inaugural speech with its most famous sentence 'Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country'. Two tattooed elderly derelicts, surrounded by empty cans and cigarette butts, watch the screen in puzzlement. One asks 'What is that supposed to mean?'
On the fiftieth anniversary of Kennedy's assassination in 1963, the president's supposed ideals, along with the 'Kennedy's children' generation were old and worn with the cynicism of everyday life and politics.
