Two cartoons featuring the leader of New Zealand First Party, Winston Peters. In one he intones 'Chinese immigration is a sin..Repeat...Repeat!' In the second one, captioned 'The fee market', Winston Peters is proclaimed as the 'Kiwi Saviour'. In both cartoons he wears a tee-shirt emblazoned 'WINston'.
On 20 October 2013 the New Zealand First Party held its annual convention in Christchurch. Winston Peters warned of immigration from Asia and attacked the fees imposed by overseas interests on Kiwisaver, which he proposed replacing with 'Kiwifund'. Peters was regarded by many in New Zealand First as the 'Kiwi Saviour', a pun on 'Kiwisaver'. The 'Win' in his name indicates his confidence that he will be once again the Kingmaker after the 2014 election.
