A clockwork John Key fobs off scandals such as the behaviour of ministers, business corruption, government department slip-ups, failures of State Owned Enterprises and the sale of state owned assets with his common claim of 'being relaxed,, 'having confidence' and 'It's their problem, not ours'. This attitude extends to the final question '...everything seems to be getting shonky...are you worried we're slipping into the third world??'
As government and business scandals began to proliferate during 2013, the Prime Minister's reflex of 'being relaxed' suggested that he was ignoring such matters which could lead New Zealand slipping into a Third World status.
