Description

A happy farmer feeds a lamb labelled 'Govt' votes. In his rural mail box is an anouncement: 'Rural post not cut'.

The decision on 24 October 2013 by the Communications Minister, Amy Adams, and New Zealand Post to exclude rural delivery postal delivery services from the cutbacks imposed on urban deliveries to three days per week was welcomed by rural residents, mail contractors and farmers. The decision also had the advantage of ensuring that rural voters would continue to support the National party government.
