Cartoons shows Uncle Sam, the personification of the United States, backed into a corner, while Syrian President Bashar al-Assad paints the floor around him red with blood from a paint can shaped like a human skull. Refers to the Syrian government's use of chemical weapons in the Damascus suburb of Ghouta in August 2013. The United States government had previously stated that the use of chemical weapons in Syria would prompt military action, however, both congressional and popular opinion were overwhelmingly against US involvement.
