An aide presents a large volume to The Politician and tells him 'This is the plumbers, gasfitters and drainlayers bill'. When The Politician questions its size, the aide says that 'we could give them a huge bill and see how they like it!'
In September 2013 the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Amendment Bill, validating a disciplinary levy and an offences fee charged by the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board, and clarifying its authority to impose a disciplinary and prosecution levy, was passed to become law. The cartoonist plays on the meaning of the word 'bill', which also means an invoice for works done. Many considered the charges imposed by plumbers and others through their Board to be excessive.
