Doyle, Martin, 1956- :Last words from the lab. 4 September 2013

President Bashir Al-Assad, surrounded by his victims, the 'Human outfall from inhuman govt', states 'In your own lab, you can destroy millions of lives and no one can stop you'.

Accompanying note from the cartoonist states "While Bashar al-Assad applies chemicals to the resident population, there are also two million refugees in camps whose lives hang in the balance. Cartoon depicts President Bashar al-Assad of Syria as a research chemist playing with deadly chemicals."

In early September 2013, the nerve gas sarin was used in Syria during the civil war. Both the rebels and the supporters of Al-Assad's government accused each other of launching the gas attack. However it appeared that the government forces, who had manufacturing capability and extensive stocks of the chemicals, were the more likely culprits.
