The man says, "That's funny The day's gone back on the computer to 1984" Refers to George Orwell's classic dystopian novel published in 1949, Nineteen Eighty-Four, which depicts a world of a world of perpetual war, omnipresent government surveillance, and public mind control. Refers to the leak of documents by former US National Security Agency contractor, Edward Snowden, which detail mass electronic surveillance and spying programs by the United States government, reminiscent of Orwell's book.
