- Description
Shows Prime Minister John Key sitting at a large desk, using a line of logic used in Nazi Germany that "if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear" Another person sits at the desk listening to him and wonders what this has to do with snapper. Context: Despite strong opposition from the Labour and Green parties, the GCSB bill passed its third reading in Parliament, which gives the Government Communications Security Bureau explicit powers to spy on New Zealanders when it is acting under warrant and for agencies including the Security Intelligence Service, police and defence. On the same day that the GCSB bill was discussed, Labour Leader David Shearer held up two differently sized dead red snappers in order to make a point about the National Party's controversial snapper fishing quotas.
