Description

Three frames depict American President Barack Obama making a speech saying the United States cannot ignore human rights abuses. His aide whispers in his ear that he is meant to be defending Israel's treatment of Palestinians. Refers to the contrast between the United States government support for Israel and Obama cancelling joint military exercises with Egypt and criticising the military appointed government attacks on supporters of ousted Islamist President Mohammed Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood (see Washington Post 15 August 2013).
