- Description
Under the caption 'Dogs trained to sniff out cash', a Police dog stands threateningly on the desk of the Chief Executive Officer of Meridian Energy. The dog handler tells the anxious executive 'Rover's speciality is obscene profits'.
In August 2013 twelve dogs trained to sniff out paper money as well as drugs were put into service with the Police and Customs departments to detect drug smugglers. In the same month Meridian Energy net profits for the year ending April 2013 were declared at $295 million. Considering the increase in electricity prices, many considered this to be exhorbitant.
