Description

A farmer, wading through an obviously polluted stream muddied by cattle and full of rubbish, holds a sample glass of dirty water and says 'I don't know why they're complaining about NZ losing its GREEN image...This looks pretty green to me!'

Throughout 2013, the problem of rivers and waterways polluted by dairy farming and other use was very much in the news and damaging to the image of New Zealand as 'Green' and unpolluted. Farmers' spokesmen were inclined to downplay the problem.
