In Wellington a crane is shifting 'The Beehive' Parliament building toward the waterfront. A worker comments ' Earthquake strengthening? Nah! We're shifting it on down to the Tsunami Zone!'
Following the July 2013 earthquakes, earthquake strengthening as well as recognition of the danger from tsunamis became a topic. The parliament buildings in Wellington were situated to be, just, safe from a major tsunami. Many thought that official minds could better concentrate on such dangers if their offices were more vulnerable.
