Shows Prime Minister John Key in a hot air balloon heading towards Australia, along with a number of other kiwis with their bags packed. The cartoonist has explained that it refers to 'the large numbers of New Zealanders leaving for Australia, despite claims by John Key when he first came to power that he would reverse the trend.' Referring to Key's reported description of the so-called brain drain as a more of a 'brain exchange' the cartoonist has noted that it 'seems that with the trend continuing he has adopted a more relaxed approach to the exodus'. The work's heading and format refers to the movie 'Oz the Great and Powerful' released in 2013.
Jeff Bell was a runner-up in the New Zealand Cartoon Archive and the Listener's Young Cartoonist Competition in 2013.
