Under the caption 'NZ rivers unfit for swimming' the cartoon shows two swimmers. One on the riverbank asks the one standing in midstream on the water if he is standing on a rock. The other replies 'Nah, bacteria'.
On 29 July 2013 the Ministry of the Environment reported that more than 60 per cent of monitored rivers in New Zealand are unsafe for swimming.
