Description

Depicts former National Security Agency Contractor Edward Snowden busking for money in Moscow Airport by blowing a whistle. Russian President Vladmir Putin throws Snowden some coins and tells Snowden to get himself "some lessons". Wife Lyudmila Aleksandrovna Putina comments that Putin never gave anything to Pussy Riot. Refers to divorce of Putins announced on 6 June 2013, and Snowden taking refuge in Moscow from prosecution by United States government for leaking secret American and British government documents about mass surveillance programs. Accompanying note from cartoonist states 'Despite Russia's 'tolerant' position towards Edward Snowden, you have to ask: where were you for the Pussy Riot women rotting in jail? Cartoon depicts Edward Snowden as a 'busker' [blowing a whistle = whistle-blower] at Moscow Airport, with Vladmir Putin and his wife casting coins into the collection cap. "Pussy Riot" are the feminist punk women recently imprisoned in Russia for performing a protest song inside a church. There is a current sense that Snowden is stranded at the Airport until he is granted asylum in some country.'
