President Obama tells an unknown African despot that 'We need to discuss human rights!' The despot points out that he is not criticising the United States actions in Guantanamo Bay prison as 'that is your business!'
In January 2013 President Obama made a trip to Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania. In the bilateral discussions which took place, the question of human rights in Africa was brought up. No mention was made of the United States' own breaches of human rights under the Homeland Security Act, the flight of Edward Snowden from the United States in the same month and the continued imprisonment of suspected terrorists at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba.
