- Date
- 2013
- Reference
- DCDL-0025382
- Description
A two-frame cartoon: on the left is a statue of the figure of justice shown with her traditional attributes of a sword and scales, and wearing a blindfold; on the right is a blindfolded Minister of Justice, Judith Collins, who uses a cane and walks past two pillars outlining 'The case for Bain compensation' and 'The case for penal reform'. Refers to the David Bain compensation claim and reports from some quarters that the Minister has acted in a manner that is not entirely open or free from prejudice. The Bain case has also sparked questions around New Zealand's penal and judicial systems.
