Shows leader of the Maori Party, Pita Sharples, below the words, 'Ikaroa-Rawhiti bye-election? Sharples has the option of exiting stage right, or exiting stage left. He says, "At least the Maori Party has options." Refers to the Ikaroa-Rawhiti by-election, which was won by Labour's Meka Whaitiri, with Mana and Maori party candidates coming in second and third, respectively. As a result, Mana leader Hone Harawira renewed the call for the Maori Party and the Mana Party to join forces. Sharples rejected the idea, but stood down from the party's leadership.
