Commentary from the artist reads: 'Hekia Parata is the Minister of Education. Why is her understanding of education (and its surrounding statistics) so at odds with that of teachers themselves? The cartoon comments on the National Standards report and Hekia Parata's response to it. The cartoon depicts Hekia and a non-specific expert in New Zealand education (reflecting the reported response of academics and teacher representatives to the Report and Parata's comments)'.
