Description

The Speaker of the House, David Carter, confronts a back bench Member of Parliament who is cuddling a nubile young lady and states 'The honourable member knows damn well what sort of babes he is allowed to bring into the House!'

On 21 May 2013, the Member of Parliament Nanaia Mahuta applied to have special leave provisions made for nursing mothers, such as herself, who was obliged to to be in Parliament with her baby until midnight on Friday because of an urgency debate.
