Description

Electronic document, typed transcript of Edward (Ted) Charles Rowe's diary kept during the period 1900 to 1903. Entries are in three distinct sections.

First part (19 June to 30 August 1900) details his daily activities around Christchurch area, visits to Lyttelton Port, courtship with Mill Francis (who later became his wife), attending various church activities, his depression, visiting his late sister's grave.

Second part (27 Dec 1901 to 10 Jan 1902) details a holiday in which he travelled to Napier, Auckland, Wanganui and Wellington on a combination of ships and trains. Mentions friends, places visited and sermons attended.

Third part (8 to 22 Dec 1903) details a holiday to Queenstown and Invercargill in which he travelled by train.

Other - Heading of document gives the name of the diarist as Charles William Rowe, however the diarist is actually his son Edward (Ted) Charles Rowe.
