'The Politician' cartoon strip. An aide suggests to The Politician that he could consider increasing 'sin taxes' on alcohol, tobacco, gambling and snack foods. The Politician replies that he would prefer the 'sin taxes' to only include things which he does not do.
Proposed for the 2013 Budget were increased consumption taxes on certain items ('sin taxes'). However the May Budget did not increase such taxes, an unusual occurrence. Whether it was a matter of politicians not wishing to be targetted, along with the rest of the population, is a matter of speculation...
