'The Politician' cartoon strip. The Politician tells his aide that his government is 'playing ping pong' with the opposition, countering their proposals with almost identical proposals. The aide replies that the problem is that theirs 'ping' while the government's proposals 'pong' (smell).
In May 2013, the government reacted to a number of opposition proposals, notably dealing with the housing shortage and lack of adequate food for school pupils, by providing their own answers. The quality of the respective proposals are moot; the government seems to lost the initiative in its decision-making.
