The Whangarei Rescue helicopter receives a call for a major emergency. However the helicopter can only assist after it has delivered 'this load of frozen meals'.
In April 2013 the proposal that hospital meals for patients and for the elderly be prepared at two central hubs and delivered by unspecified means to regional hospitals throughout the country caused unease to people who depended on the regional hospitals and on 'Meals on Wheels' food services. Those living in Northland were no exception.
