Beside a tree bearing guns, Gun Lobby stands. He has altered some of the wording in the quotation from Thomas Jefferson to refer to 'the blood of Defenceless Children'. Gun Lobby says that 'we're sure that's what Jefferson meant to say'.
On 14 December 2012 twenty children and six adults were shot and killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School, Connecticut, USA. In the resulting furore over the availability of guns in that country, the 'gun lobby' appealed to historical figures and the traditional right of citizens to bear arms.
