Description

Shows Sir Bill Birch, former Labour Minister, holding a book labelled, 'Think Big', and explaining why he's not responsible for the Pike River Mine Disaster. Context: Think Big was an interventionist state economic strategy sponsored by the New Zealand Prime Minister Robert Muldoon (1975-1984) and his National Party government in the early 1980s. In April 2013, the Ministry of Business and Innovation released a report concluding that systemic failures in the former Department of Labour and Ministry of Economic Development may have been a major factor in the deaths of 29 miners in 2010.
