The caption ironically explains that even though New Zealand is experiencing a drought, there is still money readily flowing (like water) for directors. The artist has explained the work: 'As most of the world adopts prudence and austerity as the best way forward, New Zealand business chiefs still want to keep their noses in the trough.' Wider context refers to the drought conditions over much of New Zealand and to the Government's planned asset sales, of Mighty River Power in particular, as a way to raise funds.
